What Dog’s favorite sleeping position tells you about him?

You might recognize this sleeping position

This sleeping position is very common, not only within dogs but many other animals too.

And there’s a good reason why.

You see, the most effective way in nature for a predator to kill a sleeping animal would be to attack it on the belly as they can directly attack/injure their guts. Thus many animals, including dogs, instinctively sleep in a position that hides and protects their belly & guts.

Now, this sleeping position is deeply rooted in their instincts, thus they sleep like that even though they’re not worrying about anyone attacking them in their sleep. It’s an unconscious choice.

However, it’s neither the most comfortable nor the most healthy sleeping position.
